To Soap or Not To Soap

It's no secret that soap is very drying to the skin. Even oily skin suffers at the hand of soap. The reason for this is the soap removes the natural oils that form acid mantle which helps to protect skin from bacteria. So when you wash it off with soap there is nothing to protect your skin from germs. Not to mention even oily skin can become dry with the use of soap or astringents.

Many people with oily skin avoid oil all together when it comes to skin care, but in small amounts and with the right kind of oil I recommend it's use. The three I recommended are Olive oil, Coconut oil and Castor oil. You can use them on a rotation or just find your favorite. Simply use a dime size amount and massage it into your face for about 15 - 20 then wash with a milled soap. Finish with a your normal routine and remember your SPF.
